Björk Guðmundsdóttir OTF ( BYURK; born 21 November 1965) is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and DJ. Over her four-decade career, she has developed an eclectic musical style that draws on a range of influences and genres spanning electronic, pop, experimental, trip hop, classical, and avant-garde music.

María Lilja Þrastardóttir (born 1 September 1986) is an Icelandic journalist and a selective Icelandic women's rights campaigner/activist. She is also the editor of the Icelandic book Ástarsögur íslenskra kvenna. the book is based on true love stories from modern women.

Gunnhildur Fríða Hallgrímsdóttir (born 1 May 2002) is an Icelandic politician and activist. In December 2021 she became the youngest Icelandic parliamentarian in the history of Alþingi when she took a seat as a deputy member for the Pirate Party at the age of 19.

Hreinn Beck (born in Reykjavik, Iceland) is a film and television producer, academic and political activist who has advocated for reduced restrictions on copyright and patents.

Sigríður Tómasdóttir (1871–1957) was an Icelandic environmentalist whose activism helped preserve Gullfoss waterfalls, protecting it from industrialization. She is widely seen as Iceland's first environmentalist and is memorialized on a sculpture near Gullfoss.

Ólafía Jóhannsdóttir (October 22, 1863 – June 21, 1924) was an Icelandic teacher and temperance worker. She traveled and lectured in different countries on behalf of the International Organisation of Good Templars (IOGT) and the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union (WCTU), being proficient in English, Danish, Norwegian and German, in addition to her native Icelandic. She was an author, magazine editor, and textbook translator. It was Olafia's ambition to bring the women of Iceland to a position of equality with men.

Jóhannes Loftsson (born 30 June 1973) is an Icelandic engineer, activist and chairman of the Libertarian Society of Iceland and chairman of the political party Responsible Future.
