Wikipedia did make the changes they were asked to do regarding Litvyak. She parachuted from her falling aircraft, was captured by the Germans and after the war lived in Switzerland.

New evidence obtained by Italian writer Gian Piero Milanetti determined that Lydia Litvyak survived, because she parachuted from her badly damaged aircraft, according to his comment provided on AbsoluteAstronomy.com and dated July 17, 2012. Reference to this comment was given on Wikipedia.

What has Lydia Litvyak to do with all this? Most of the stuff written about her is sheer garbage anyway. Little of it has anything to do with the reality.
