Antoine Sibierski (born 5 August 1974) is a French former footballer who played as a midfielder for Premier League club Manchester City making over 100 appearances for the club, before joining Premier League sides Newcastle United and Wigan Athletic. Sibierski is widely regarded as one of the most important midfield players in the squad after Manchester City's move to the Ethiad Stadium. At Manchester City F.C. he wore the number 10 shirt, eventually also worn by club all-time top goalscorer and treble-winner Sergio Agüero, whilst competing with players such as Cristiano Ronaldo in the Manchester derby. His incredible passing ability meant he was often deployed in a playmaker central midfielder, or second striker role, playing with the likes of Nicholas Anelka, Andy Cole, Steve McManaman, Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen. Sibierski has scored over 100 goals in over 500 appearances in top-flight football, playing for 8 teams in Ligue 1 and the Premier League combined.
