Amalia Vairelli is a Somali model and jewelry designer. She was born in Somalia and arrived in France at the age of nine, where she lived with her paternal aunt and her uncle. Amalia was first noticed on the dance floor of a nightclub by the owner of a modelling agency who gave her his professional business card. She was signed to Ellen Harth Agency and quickly she did her first casting at Yves Saint Laurent, who signed her to a contract. She was known as a Saint Laurent muse and simply was known as "Amalia". She also walked for designers such as Versace, Ungaro, Lanvin, Oscar De La Renta, Bill Blass, Sonia Rykiel, Patrick Kelly and many more. She did print work for publications such as Vogue, Linea Italiana, Donna (Italy), and advertisements for Versace, Moschino, Mila Schon, and many others. Her sister Edia was also a model. Amalia has had a long career and continues to model today.
