Worsley family

Katharine, Duchess of Kent, GCVO (born Katharine Lucy Mary Worsley; 22 February 1933) is a member of the British royal family. Her husband, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, is a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.

Col. Sir William Arthington Worsley of Hovingham, 4th Baronet (5 April 1890 – 4 December 1973) was an English landowner and amateur first-class cricketer.

Sir Robert Worsley, 3rd Baronet (1643 – 1675 in Appuldurcombe), was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons of England during the Cavalier Parliament, representing Newtown on the Isle of Wight from 1666 to 1675. He was counted as a member of the Court party, but was not considered very active in parliament.

Charles Worsley (24 June 1622 – 12 June 1656) was an English soldier and politician. He was an ardent supporter of Oliver Cromwell and was an officer in the Parliamentary army during the English Civil War and the Commonwealth of England. He sat in the House of Commons in 1654 and governed a district during the Rule of the Major-Generals.

Giles Arthington Worsley FSA (22 March 1961 – 17 January 2006) was an English architectural historian, author, editor, journalist and critic, specialising in British country houses. He was the second son of Sir Marcus Worsley of Hovingham Hall, a nephew of Katharine, Duchess of Kent, and died of cancer aged 44.

Sir Richard Worsley, 7th Baronet, PC, FRS, FSA (13 February 1751 – 8 August 1805) was a British politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1774 and 1801. He was a noted collector of antiquities.

Sir William Marcus John Worsley, 5th Baronet, DL JP (6 April 1925 – 18 December 2012) was a British Conservative Party politician. He served as a Member of Parliament in four parliaments between 1959 and 1974, and served as High Sheriff and Lord Lieutenant for North Yorkshire.
