SS-Obersturmführer

Josef Kollmer (February 26, 1901 – January 28, 1948) was an SS-Obersturmführer at Auschwitz. He was prosecuted at the Auschwitz Trial.

Werner Wolff (28 November 1922 – 19 or 29 March 1945) was an Obersturmführer (first lieutenant), in the 1. SS Panzer Division 'Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler' (LSSAH) of the Waffen-SS, who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. This was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World War II.

Hans Moeser (April 7, 1906 – November 26, 1948) was a German SS functionary during the Nazi era who served at the Neuengamme, Auschwitz and Mittelbau-Dora concentration camps. He was captured at the end of the war and tried by the United States Military Government Court. The only one among 19 defendants at the Dora Trial sentenced to death, Möser was executed at Landsberg Prison in 1948.

Heinz Siegfried Heydrich (29 September 1905 – 19 November 1944) was the son of Richard Bruno Heydrich and the younger brother of SS-Obergruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich. After the death of his brother, Heinz Heydrich helped Jews escape the Holocaust.

Franz Hößler, also Franz Hössler ( listen ; 4 February 1906 – 13 December 1945) was a Nazi German SS-Obersturmführer and Schutzhaftlagerführer at the Auschwitz-Birkenau, Dora-Mittelbau and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps during World War II. Captured by the Allies at the end of the war, Hößler was charged with crimes against humanity in the First Bergen-Belsen Trial, found guilty, and sentenced to death. He was executed by hanging at Hameln Prison in 1945.

Søren Kam (2 November 1921 – 23 March 2015) was a Danish former Waffen-SS officer wanted for murder in Denmark and listed by the Simon Wiesenthal Center as one of the most wanted Nazi war criminals.

Eduard Roschmann (25 November 1908 – 8 August 1977) was an Austrian Nazi SS-Obersturmführer and commandant of the Riga ghetto during 1943. He was responsible for numerous murders and other atrocities. As a result of a fictionalised portrayal in the novel The Odessa File by Frederick Forsyth and its subsequent film adaptation, Roschmann came to be known as the "Butcher of Riga".

Hans Hermann Junge (11 February 1914 – 13 August 1944) born in Preetz / Holstein was a German SS officer who served as aide-de-camp and valet to Adolf Hitler. He was married to Traudl Junge, Hitler's last private secretary. He was killed in combat during the latter stages of the Battle of Normandy in August 1944 and is buried in Champigny-Saint-André German war cemetery.

Anton Thumann (31 October 1912 — 8 October 1946) was a Nazi German SS-Obersturmführer and a Schutzhaftlagerführer in various concentration camps during World War II. After the war, Thumann was arrested by British occupation forces and charged with crimes against humanity. At the Neuengamme Trial in 1946 he was found to be guilty, sentenced to death and executed by hanging at Hamelin Prison.

Arnold Strippel (2 June 1911 in Unshausen (now Wabern) – 1 May 1994 in Frankfurt) was a German SS commander during the Nazi era and convicted criminal. As a member of the SS-Totenkopfverbände, while assigned to the Neuengamme concentration camp, he was given the task of murdering the victims of a tuberculosis medical experiment conducted by Kurt Heissmeyer.
