    Gete Mino Mshkiigan, pronounced “geh-teh-mino-mush-key-gun,” is an undeveloped state park located in Cheboygan County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The park occupies 147 acres (59 ha) along the shores of Mullett Lake. The North Central State Trail, a 75-mile long state-owned rail trail, runs through the property close to the shoreline of the lake. The shoreline itself consists of 1,500 feet of undeveloped lakefront. According to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), "the undulating terrain is dominated by mixed coniferous/deciduous forest, with approximately 35% of the land identified as emergent wetlands."

    Clear Springs Nature Preserve is a nature preserve located in Montague Township, Michigan, less than half a mile from the interchange between US Highway 31 (US 31) and Business US 31 near Montague. It is heavily forested and features a pond, a creek, and six different hiking trails, the Rim Trail, Pond Side Trail, Crest Trail, Spring Trail, East Boundary Trail, and West Boundary Trail. These trails can be hiked in two different loop distances. The long loop goes from Spring Trail to the West Boundary trail to the Rim Trail, and ends with the East Boundary Trail, a total of 1.5 mils (3.8×10 km) while the short loop goes from Spring Trail to the Pond Side Trail and ends with the Rim Trail, a total of 0.9 miles (1.4 km). In total, there are 2.6 miles (4.2 km) of hiking trails. There are no other developed facilities except for a donation box, map display, and a small dirt parking area located at the main entrance near Fruitvale Road and the US 31 interchange, while the other entrance is located at Walsh Road. The nature preserve also has many benches and signposts that inform visitors of the many different species and tree types, most notably the red pine tree.

    Crescent is a ghost town located on the west shore of North Manitou Island off the Leelanau Peninsula, in Leelanau County, Michigan. The small town was first settled in the 1860s with the arrival of logging and farming industries and European immigrants, reaching its heyday in the early 1900s with the peak of the logging industry on the island. After the mills shut down in 1917, the town was abandoned with the island as a whole pivoting away from industry towards small scale tourism.

    Sturgeon Point State Park is an undeveloped public recreation area that is home to the historic Sturgeon Point Light. The state park covers 76 acres (31 ha) on the shore of Lake Huron three miles (4.8 km) north of Harrisville in Alcona County, Michigan. In addition to the lighthouse and associated museum, the park features a long and shallow reef that juts into Lake Huron and extends for almost a full mile. The park is used for lighthouse visits, swimming, and viewing various Michigan flora and fauna.

The wildlife management area centers along the Muskegon River about 2 miles (3.2 km) from its source at Houghton Lake, and it incorporates rural areas in Enterprise Township within Missaukee County and Lake Township within Roscommon County for an approximate total area of 1,024 acres (4.14 km²). It is controlled and maintained by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
