Lagos (LAY-goss; also US: LAH-gohss; Yoruba: Èkó), or Lagos City, is a large metropolitan city in southwestern Nigeria. With an upper population estimate of 21 million, it is the largest city in Nigeria, and the most populous urban area on the African continent. Lagos was the national capital of Nigeria until the government's December 1991 decision to move their capital to Abuja in the centre of the country. Lagos is a major African financial centre and is the economic hub of Lagos State and Nigeria at large. The city has a significant influence on commerce, entertainment, technology, education, politics, tourism, art, and fashion in Africa. Lagos is also among the top ten of the world's fastest-growing cities and urban areas. In 2024, Time Out magazine ranked Lagos as the 19th Best City to visit in the World. A megacity, it has the fourth-highest GDP in Africa, and houses one of the largest and busiest seaports on the continent. Due to the large urban population and port traffic volumes, Lagos is classified as a Medium-Port Megacity.

Oba Fatai Ayinla Aileru (Born 11 March 1938) The Great Monarch, is the current Oba (king) of Mushinland and the Chairman of Obas and Chiefs of Mushin Local Government. He is a First Class Oba (King) which qualifies him to be a Permanent Member of Council of Obas in Lagos State, Nigeria. Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs is one body, which has the capacity to contribute phenomenally to good governance in the State by constantly availing government of its wisdom and sound advice: using its tremendous influence to mobilize popular support for public policy as well as being an important source of communication and feedback between the government and the grassroots. The Institution of the Council of Obas and Chiefs is a critical building block that every government must engage seriously if development and orderly societal growth is at the core of its vision.

Isimi Lagos is a planned city of Lagos State, Nigeria, under construction in Epe Town. The new city is designed to house up to 10,000 residents, with a completion timeline set to 2030. The city covers a land area of over 300 hectares (3,000,000m²) and is developed by Landwey Investment Limited. The city's name, 'Isimi', means 'Peace of Mind' in Yoruba language.

Mowo is a town in Badagry, Lagos State, southwestern Nigeria. The town is just few kilometers from Seme Border with a populations of about 78,897. Resident of the town are predominantly traders who often do businesses in the Seme border. In December 2013, it was reported that 600 buildings erected on about 65 hectares of land were demolished by the Nigerian police.

Lekki is a naturally formed peninsula, adjoining to its west Victoria Island and Ikoyi districts of Lagos, with the Atlantic Ocean to its south, Lagos Lagoon to the north, and Lekki Lagoon to its east; however, the city's southeast, which ends around the western edge of Refuge Island, adjoins the eastern part of Ibeju-Lekki LGA.

At the 2006 census, there were 503,975 inhabitants, with a population density of 21,864 inhabitants per square kilometer. The local government area is bordered by Yaba, Mushin, and Ebute-Metta.
