Piapot Cree Nation

Buffy Sainte-Marie, CC (born Beverly Sainte-Marie, February 20, 1941) is an Indigenous Canadian-American (Piapot Cree Nation) singer-songwriter, musician, composer, visual artist, educator, pacifist, and social activist. While working in these areas, her work has focused on issues facing Indigenous peoples of the Americas. Her singing and writing repertoire also includes subjects of love, war, religion, and mysticism. She has won recognition, awards and honours for her music as well as her work in education and social activism. Among her most popular songs are "Universal Soldier", "Cod'ine", "Until It's Time for You to Go", "Take My Hand for a While", "Now That the Buffalo's Gone", and her versions of Mickey Newbury's "Mister Can't You See" and Joni Mitchell's "The Circle Game". Her songs have been recorded by many artists including Donovan, Joe Cocker, Jennifer Warnes, Janis Joplin, and Glen Campbell.

The Reserve Grounds are located adjacent to and west of Fort Qu'Appelle. In the 2016 Canadian Census, they recorded a population of 15 living in 6 of their 8 total private dwellings.

Zehner is an unincorporated community in the rural municipality of Edenwold No. 158, Saskatchewan in Saskatchewan. This community is approximately 19 km (12 miles) northeast of Regina. It is also the administrative headquarters of the Piapot First Nation band government. Actor John Vernon was born in Zehner.

Piapot, Payipwât, or Payipwat (Hole in the Sioux or One Who Knows the Secrets of the Sioux), born as Kisikawasan (Flash in the Sky), known by his Assiniboine allies as Maȟpíya owáde hókši (Lightning In The Sky Boy) (c.–April 1908) was a Native Canadian chief of the Cree-Assiniboine / Young Dogs Band, a mighty band and division of the Downstream People (Māmihkiyiniwak) of the Plains Cree. He was one of the five major leaders of the Plains Cree after 1860.

Piapot 75 is an Indian reserve of the Piapot Cree Nation in Saskatchewan. It is 43 kilometers west of Fort Qu'Appelle. In the 2016 Canadian Census, it recorded a population of 516 living in 143 of its 171 total private dwellings. In the same year, its Community Well-Being index was calculated at 55 of 100, compared to 58.4 for the average First Nations community and 77.5 for the average non-Indigenous community.

Last Mountain Lake 80A is a shared Indian reserve in Saskatchewan, used by the Day Star, George Gordon, Kawacatoose, Muscowpetung, Muskowekwan, Pasqua, and Piapot First Nations. It is in Township 21, Range 21, west of the Second Meridian.
