Alphonse "The Peacemaker" Attardi (April 1, 1892 – July 17, 1970) was a New York mobster involved in narcotics who later became a government informant. His front was ownership of an olive oil importing business.

Ranieri Filo della Torre (or Premio letterario internazionale Ranieri Filo della Torre) is an international literary prize for writing about extra virgin olive oil. It is sponsored by the Italian association of women professionals in the olive oil sector, Pandolea Association. It is open to authors of poems, short stories and scientific papers on the subject of extra virgin olive oil. The first award was in 2017.

Extra Virginity asserts that the global olive oil industry is rife with corruption and fraud due to lax governmental regulations, but it also presents stories of individuals, including growers and government officials, who seek to curb such practices and promote genuine extra virgin olive oil. The book also includes an appendix with advice to consumers for choosing good oil. Extra Virginity expands upon "Slippery Business", an article Mueller wrote for The New Yorker in 2007 which described the state of the Italian olive oil industry.

Adatepe Olive Oil Museum (Turkish: Zeytinyağı Müzesi) is a museum in Çanakkale Province, Turkey. The museum is at 39°32′51″N 26°36′04″E / 39.54750°N 26.60111°E in Adatepe village (next to Küçükuyu) of Ayvacık ilçe (district) and on Turkish state highway D.550 connecting İzmir to Çanakkale. It is located in an abandoned soap plant. It was opened in 2001 by a private olive company.
