The Crystal Simorgh (Persian: سیمرغ بلورین) is an award given by Fajr International Film Festival, Iran's major annual film festival. It is awarded in several categories of International Competition as well as Iranian Cinema Competition. The award's name comes from the Simurgh, a mythical bird that appears in Persian mythology.
Iran's annual Fajr International Film Festival (Persian: جشنواره بینالمللی فیلم فجر), or Fajr Film Festival (little: FIFF; Persian: جشنواره فیلم فجر), has been held every February in Tehran since 1983. The festival is supervised by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. It takes place on the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The awards are the Iranian equivalent to the American Academy Awards.
Farid Nazerfasihi (Persian: فرید ناظر فصیحی; born on May 1, 1984, in Tehran) is an Iranian Visual effects supervisor and VFX producer. Farid is the winner of Crystal Simorgh for the best visual special effects of the 36th Fajr International Film Festival for the movie Istanbul Junction and Ablagh.
