She left the National Broadcaster Mediacorp in 2011 to set up her own media agency Left Profile and production house Huat Films. She has produced, written and directed 3 commercial movies [1] , the first of which, “Already Famous“, was chosen as Singapore’s entry for Best Foreign Film at the Academy Awards in 2013. Chong is known for her versatility and comedy in satire shows such as The Noose and more recently for her online personas Ah Lian, Venus Seow and Emily 爱美丽 etc from The Michelle Chong Channel on Youtube.

He founded Trans-Island Bus Services (now known as SMRT Buses) in 1982 and more recently is the non-executive chairman of the NTUC FairPrice supermarket chain and board member of Singapore Press Holdings. Since 1990 he has been the vice-president of the Singapore National Olympic Council, and since 2009 has served as a vice-president of the International Olympic Committee. In 2013, he was a candidate for the presidency of the International Olympic Committee, but eventually lost to Thomas Bach.

A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), she has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Chua Chu Kang GRC for Bukit Gombak since May 2011. She entered politics in the 2011 Singaporean general election. She was promoted from Parliamentary Secretary to Senior Parliamentary Secretary on 1 May 2017 and from Senior Parliamentary Secretary to Minister of State on 27 July 2020.

    Kuo Pao Kun (1939 – 10 September 2002) (simplified Chinese: 郭宝崑; traditional Chinese: 郭寶崑; pinyin: Guō Bǎokūn; Wade–Giles: Kuo Pao K'un) was a playwright, theatre director, and arts activist in Singapore who wrote and directed both Mandarin and English plays. He founded three arts and drama centres in Singapore, conducted and organised a number of drama seminars and workshops, and mentored Singaporean and foreign directors and artists. Kuo is acknowledged by both locals and foreigners as the pioneer of Singapore theatre, and was awarded the Cultural Medallion in 1990 for his contributions to Singapore theatre. His plays are characterised for their dramatic and social commentary, use of simple metaphors and multiculturalism themes, and have been staged locally and internationally.
