Václav Havel ( 5 October 1936 – 18 December 2011) was a Czech statesman, writer and former dissident, who served as the last President of Czechoslovakia from 1989 until the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1992 and then as the first President of the Czech Republic from 1993 to 2003. As a writer of Czech literature, he is known for his plays, essays, and memoirs.

Vojtěch Náprstek (often called Vojta) (17 April 1826, in Prague – 2 September 1894), was a Czech philanthropist, patriot and politician, as well as a pioneering Czech language journalist in the United States.

Charles Jonas (born Karel Jonáš - October 24, 1840 – January 15, 1896) was a Czech journalist, linguist and political activist, who became a Wisconsin journalist and politician.

Jan Sladký Kozina (10 September 1652 in Újezd – 26 November 1695 in Plzeň) was the Czech revolutionary leader of the Chodové peasant rebellion at the end of the 17th century.

Denisa Rohanová, née Nepovímová, (born 16 April 1975 in Pardubice) is a Czech activist who focuses on helping people in debt and in Distraint. Since 2017, she has been the President of the Czech Association of Debtors.

Marek Hilšer (born 23 March 1976) is a Czech political activist and university lecturer. He stood to become Czech president in the 2018 presidential election, but finished fifth in the first round, failing to advance.

Mgr. Czeslaw Walek (born 31 January 1975) is a Czech lawyer and LGBT activist of Polish origin. He served as Deputy Minister of Human Rights and Minorities from 2009 to 2011, and is the founder and chairman of the Prague Pride association that organises the annual festival of the same name.

Jarmila Bělíková (April 27, 1948 – May 6, 2010) was a Czech psychologist, activist, and translator.

Šimon Pánek (born 27 December 1967) is a former Czech student activist during the Velvet Revolution in 1989 and today the executive director of the humanitarian organization People in Need (Člověk v tísni), which he co-founded in 1992. People in Need (PIN) became the biggest non-governmental organisation in Central and Eastern Europe and works worldwide to mitigate the suffering of people in times of crisis. For its international and national effort, PIN has become highly respected in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Vojtěch Sedláček (born 1947 in Prague) is a Czech entrepreneur, who established Obsluzna spol. (1995) and Agentura ProVas (1996). Both companies have a mission of creating employment and business opportunities for people with disabilities. In 1973 Vojtech Sedlacek married with Jaroslava Vagnerova (maiden name), they raised four daughters and one son.
