Federica Montseny Mañé (12 February 1905 – 14 January 1994) was a Spanish anarchist, intellectual and Minister of Health during the Spanish Revolution of 1936, a social revolution that occurred in Spain in parallel to the Spanish Civil War.

Teresa Rebull, née Teresa Soler i Pi (1919-2015) was a Catalan- Spanish nurse for the POUM who later became a singer. She was actively involved in the May Days events and punished for that. She later escaped Spain, where she could face danger from both Stalinists and Francoists, for France. In France she would join the Maquis after the Nazi invasion. After the war she became musically associated to Nova Cançó.

Maria Carme Junyent i Figueras (4 February 1955 – 3 September 2023), commonly known as Carme Junyent, was a Catalan linguist. Renowned in her work field, in particular for her defense of the Catalan language and studies on endangered languages, she was a professor of linguistics at the University of Barcelona. She specialized in African languages and sociolinguistics.

David Fernàndez i Ramos (Barcelona, September 24, 1974) is a Catalan journalist, political and social activist. He was a member of the Parliament of Catalonia in the tenth legislature for the Popular Unity Candidacy (CUP) from December 17, 2012 to August 4, 2015 .

Francesco Manunta , in Catalan language, Francesc Manunta i Baldino (Alghero, 1928–1995) was an Italian priest and poet.

Mantinc el català (in English, “I maintain Catalan”) is a linguistic, non-profit citizen platform distributed in various parts of the so-called Catalan Countries, where Catalan is an autochthonous language. Its volunteering aims to encourage the language revitalization in the public sphere by persuading, as many Catalan speakers as possible, to refrain from unconsciously shifting their language to (mostly) Spanish in routine situations such as in the street, commerce, public services or with the immigrants. Its organizational motto is Mantinc el català sempre, a tot arreu i amb tothom! (“I mantain Catalan always, everywhere and with everybody!)”.
