Capitaine Pavel Vladimirovich Argeyev (Russian: Павел Владимирович Аргеев) (March 1, 1887 – October 30, 1922), also known as Paul d'Argueev and The Eagle of Crimea, was a Russian-born flying ace of World War I, serving the French Armée de l'Air and Imperial Russian Air Service. Initially a high-ranking officer in the Imperial Russian Army, he transferred to France, where he became an aviator. He received a variety of decorations, both French and Russian, before dying in a flying accident in 1922.

Viktor Viktorovich Utgoff (also sometimes spelled Uthof, Russian: Виктор Викторович Утгоф; 14 July 1889 — 11 October 1930) was a Russian naval aviator who became a seaplane ace during World War I with five aerial victories, while serving in the Black Sea Fleet of the Imperial Russian Navy.

Eugenie Mikhailovna Shakhovskaya (St. Petersburg, 1889 – Kiev, 1920) (Евгения Михайловна Шаховская, Yevgeniya Mikhaylovna Shakhovskaya) was a Russian pioneering aviator. She was the first woman to become a military pilot when she flew reconnaissance missions for the Tsar in 1914.

Abraham Whalomie Raygorodsky (June 4, 1884 - ?) was Russian-American aviation pioneer.

Sergei Utochkin (1876 – 1916) was a Ukrainian cyclist, sportsman and aviator. He was one of the most notable natives of the Black Sea port of Odessa in the early years of the 20th century.

Lyubov Golanchikova (also Russian: Любовь Александровна Голанчикова, Ljuba Galantchikoff) (1889–1959) was the third woman of the Russian Empire to receive a pilot's license. She was probably born in what is now Estonia. She was the first female test pilot, testing airplanes for Anthony Fokker, the French aircraft firm Morane-Saulnier, and the Russian airplane manufacturer Fedor Tereshchenko. During World War I, she flew missions for the Red Cross and during the civil war, may have flown observation missions for the Red Army. In 1923, she moved to the United States and made several attempts to be the first woman to make a transatlantic fight, though none ever came to fruition. After 1930, she quit flying and worked in various positions, including as a taxi driver.

Farrukh-agha Mammad Kerim-agha oglu Gayibov (Azerbaijani: Fərrux ağa Məmmədkərim ağa oğlu Qayıbov; 2 October 1891 — 12 September 1916) was a Russian pilot of Azerbaijani ancestry, and participant in World War I. He is considered to be the first Azerbaijani pilot.

Vsevolod Mikhaylovich Abramovich (Russian: Всеволод Михайлович Абрамович) (August 11, 1890 – April 24, 1913) was a pioneering aviator.
