Johnny Weissmuller (June 2, 1904 – January 20, 1984) was an Austro-Hungarian-born American competition swimmer, water polo player and actor. He was known for playing Edgar Rice Burroughs' ape man Tarzan in films of the 1930s and 1940s and for having one of the best competitive swimming records of the 20th century.

Erik Weisz (March 24, 1874 – October 31, 1926), known professionaly as Harry Houdini (hoo-DEE-nee), was a Hungarian-American escapologist, illusionist, and stunt performer noted for his escape acts.

Peter Lorre (born László Löwenstein; 26 June 1904 – 23 March 1964) was a Hungarian-American actor. Lorre began his stage career in Vienna before moving to Germany where he worked first on the stage, then in film in Berlin in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Lorre caused an international sensation in the German film M (1931), directed by Fritz Lang, in which he portrayed a serial killer who preys on little girls.

Gilda Gray (born Marianna Michalska; October 24, 1901 – December 22, 1959) was an American actress and dancer who popularized a dance called the "shimmy" which became fashionable in 1920s films and theater productions.

Lucy Doraine (22 May 1898 – 14 October 1989) was a Hungarian film actress of the silent era. Born as Ilona Kovács in Budapest, she appeared in 24 films between 1918 and 1931. She was married to film director Michael Curtiz from 1918 to 1923. She died in Los Angeles, California, aged 91.

Adolph Zukor (January 7, 1873 – June 10, 1976) was an Austro-Hungarian-born American film producer best known as one of the three founders of Paramount Pictures. He produced one of America's first feature-length films, The Prisoner of Zenda, in 1913.
